BREAKOUT SESSIONS & WORKSHOPS Issues in Sustainable Forestry Purpose: This session will define priority recommendations for WSSD, focused on three issue areas related to sustainable forestry: monitoring, research and institutional lending policies. There will be a statement covering each of these areas to serve as a basis of discussion. Outcome: Participants will develop several consensus recommendations for each of these areas. Presenters:
Format: The 3 hour session will begin with three 10 minute presentations including time for questions, one on each of the areas: monitoring, research and lending policies. This will be followed by a 30 minute general discussion. The remaining two hours will be devoted to participants developing consensus recommendations for each of these areas. If there is additional time after reaching consensus on these focus issues, other possible recommendations by participants will be addressed. Resources:
